Volunteer Orientation Meetings are held monthly and allow those interested in joining our team to learn more about Courage Service Dogs and how they can use their skills and experience to help our organization grow and thrive.  These meetings also offer an opportunity to meet some of our puppies in training!

In addition to our other volunteer opportunities, we are currently looking for volunteers to fill these leadership positions:

Volunteer Coordinator

The volunteer coordinator is responsible for recruiting new volunteers, reviewing applications, scheduling and running volunteer meetings, matching volunteers with specific needs, assisting event committees with staffing and maintaining volunteer records.  This position would require approximately 20 hours per month but could have a volunteer assistant to help with these tasks

Website Manager

We are looking for a creative and website savvy individual to help with the management of our website.  We use the Weebly platform, so experience with that would be a bonus! Responsibilities would include maintaining and updating the website, requesting new material from volunteers, developing new and innovative ideas for website formatting and using creativity to keep our site fresh and appealing.

Foster Program Coordinator

The responsibilities of this position would be to directly assist our Foster Program Director with our puppy raising program. Our puppies in training are placed with foster families who are responsible for the care and basic training of our future service dogs. Tasks for this position would include assisting the program director with recruiting foster families, making home visits, rotation scheduling, finding substitute fosters, transporting puppies to and from training sessions, and administrative tasks.  This position would require approximately 20 hours per month.

Fundraising Coordinator

This position requires a creative and energetic individual with experience in nonprofit fundraising.  This includes searching for community opportunities, creating and facilitating fundraising events, grant writing, developing and overseeing event committees, and other administrative tasks.  This position would require approximately 25-30 hours per month.

There are many ways volunteers, both past and present, have helped Courage Service Dogs. Here are some photos of just a few of the volunteers who have generously donated their time and efforts.
