Founded in 2013 by Lisa Burkett, Courage Service Dogs is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to assisting Minnesota residents who have been diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as a result of trauma experienced in the line of duty.
Our mission is to partner PTSD service dogs with the courageous men and women who have served our country and communities.
Our quality service dogs are raised by loving foster families who assist with their puppy’s obedience and public access training. Once the puppies have a solid basis in every-day activities, they will begin their task training with our service dog trainer.
Once training is complete, Courage Service Dogs are placed with qualified recipients, which include US veterans, law enforcement officers, firefighters, and medical first responders.
